AI Use Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2025
Our Commitment to Transparency
As a platform that covers AI tools, we believe we have a particular obligation to be transparent about how we ourselves use AI. This page explains where AI is and is not used in producing the content on this Site.
How We Use AI
Research Assistance
We may use AI language models as a research aid — for example, to identify topics, generate initial outlines, or surface publicly available information about a tool. All AI-assisted research is verified by our editorial team against primary sources before publication. AI research output alone is never published without human review and verification.
Draft Assistance
In some cases, AI tools may be used to produce an initial draft of tool descriptions, comparison summaries, or other factual content. All such drafts are substantially reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication. We do not publish raw AI-generated text.
Free AI Utilities
The free tools available on this Site (legal text summarizer, case brief generator, etc.) are interfaces designed to be connected to AI APIs such as Anthropic's Claude or OpenAI's GPT models. When these tools are active, your input is transmitted to the relevant AI API for processing. We do not store your inputs beyond the immediate session. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
SEO and Metadata
AI tools may assist in generating meta descriptions, title tag suggestions, and structured data. All such outputs are reviewed and approved by our editorial team before publication.
How We Do Not Use AI
Star Ratings and Editorial Conclusions
Tool ratings, verdicts in comparison articles, and editorial recommendations are determined by our human editorial team based on our review methodology. AI tools are not used to generate or determine ratings.
Fabricating Reviews or Quotes
We do not use AI to fabricate user reviews, generate fake quotes from legal professionals, or simulate user experiences we have not verified. All attributed statements and user feedback on this Site reflect real sources.
Legal Advice Outputs
We do not use AI to generate legal advice, legal opinions, or content that could be construed as attorney work product. All content is framed as informational and educational, consistent with our Disclaimer.
AI Content Labeling
Where a page or section was substantially drafted with AI assistance and has not been fully rewritten by a human editor, we will note this. Our standard is that any page carrying our editorial voice has been reviewed and approved by a human editor regardless of how the first draft was produced.
Data You Submit to Our Free Tools
When you use our free AI tools, your input text is transmitted to a third-party AI API for processing. We strongly advise:
- Do not submit confidential client information to our free tools.
- Do not submit personally identifiable information of third parties.
- Do not submit court-filed documents containing sealed or confidential material.
- Treat our free tools as you would any public AI interface — appropriate only for non-sensitive, non-confidential content.
Third-party AI APIs used by our tools have their own privacy and data policies. We will identify which AI provider powers each tool on its respective page.
Bar Ethics Considerations for Attorneys
Attorneys using AI tools — including the free utilities on this Site — should consult their applicable jurisdiction's bar ethics guidance on the use of AI with client matters. Most jurisdictions require attorneys to:
- Understand the capabilities and limitations of AI tools used in legal work;
- Maintain client confidentiality when using third-party AI services;
- Supervise AI outputs and take responsibility for work product submitted to courts or clients;
- Avoid disclosing client confidences to AI systems without appropriate safeguards.

Updates to This Policy
AI technology and our use of it evolve rapidly. We will update this policy as our practices change and will note the date of the most recent revision above.
