Demand letter preparation is the most time-consuming document task in personal injury law. A single demand package — the letter plus supporting medical chronology, treatment summary, damages breakdown, and pain-and-suffering narrative — can take a paralegal 8 to 15 hours to assemble. That's true even for a routine auto accident case with a clear liability picture and straightforward treatment records.

The bottleneck is the raw materials. Medical records arrive as PDFs — unstructured, physician-note heavy, often hundreds of pages for a moderately injured claimant. Someone has to read them, extract the relevant treatment events, organize them chronologically, calculate the total medical specials, and translate clinical language into a readable narrative that makes sense to an insurance adjuster.

Integrations

EvenUp integrates with Filevine and Litify — the two most widely used case management platforms in plaintiff-side PI law. The integration means case documents can be pushed to EvenUp directly from the case file without manual uploading, and completed demand packages are returned to the case record automatically.

For firms not on Filevine or Litify, EvenUp works via manual document upload through its web interface. It's functional but adds friction to the workflow. If you're considering EvenUp and you're also considering a case management system, building around Filevine or Litify makes the most sense.

What EvenUp Is Not

EvenUp does not do legal research. It does not draft motions, discovery responses, or briefs. It does not review contracts or analyze risk. It is not a general-purpose legal AI assistant. If you're looking for a tool that handles multiple areas of legal work, EvenUp is not it.

It also does not handle practice areas outside personal injury. Workers compensation, mass tort, and some medical malpractice cases can fit the demand-package workflow, but criminal defense, family law, corporate work, and litigation outside the PI context are not use cases EvenUp serves.

Is EvenUp Worth It?

For a high-volume plaintiff PI firm, almost certainly yes. The time savings are documented and the math closes easily once you're above 15–20 demands per month. For a solo PI attorney handling a small case volume, the per-demand cost may not justify the subscription unless demand preparation is genuinely taking you away from higher-value work.
